National park Northern Velebit Croatia

National park Northern Velebit Croatia is situated in central western part of Croatia, south of town Senja and east of towns Sveti Juraj and Jablanac, on overall surface of 109 km2. As National Park Northern Velebit Croatia it has been proclaimed in year 1999. to protect nature and all biological species which live here. Here is famous Lukin pit, one of 20 deepest in world with its 1.421 m of depth. National park Northern Velebit has rich forests of spruces, firs, aleppo pine trees, mountain beeches and oaks. Out of animals there are bears, wolves, lynxes, eagles and many other. On whole area there are mountain trails, mountain lodges, resting places and numerous forest and botanical reserves. About 20.000 tourists and visitors a year are visiting national park Northern Velebit. Management of National Park Northern Velebit Croatia is located in town Krasno, 32 km far of coast.
