Nature park Velebit Croatia is situated in central western part of Croatia which covers surface of 2.270 km2 and it is divided into 5 areas, depending on their landforms and species of biological world. So there are: Senj nature park Velebit from town Senj to town Sveti Juraj, Nortern nature park Velebit from town Sveti Juraj to town Jablanac, Middle Nature park Velebit Croatia from town Jablanac to town Karlobag, Southern nature park Velebit from town Karlobag to town Starigrad and South eastern Nature park Velebit Croatia from town Gračac to Obrovac. Mountain Velebit is 145 km long and wide from 10 – 30 km with overall surface of 2.270 km2 and it is proclaimed as nature park Velebit in year 1981. Mountain is most important endemic area of flora and fauna in Croatia for their special species and localities. On whole area of nature park Velebit there are numerous forest and botanical reserves, karst landforms, mountain trails, mountain lodges, resting places and viewpoints from which islands and coast are seen. Here are growing spruces, firs, pine trees, mountain beeches, oaks and many other trees. Out of animals, here are living bears, lynxes, wolves, eagles and many aother animals. Near towns Senj, Sveti Juraj, Jablanac and Karlobag there are roads which lead to nature park Velebit, so guests can reach some spots by cars or buses.
