Radio dramas festival, town of Hvar

In the period, on May 15-21th in the year 2010. in the town of Hvar, 14th international festival of the feature and documentary radio dramas «Prix Marulic» has taken place. At the festival,61 radio dramas from 22 countries and 36 producers, from all over the world, have been represented. Within this program, 20 of them were radio dramas, 21 documentary dramas, and 20 of them new dramas forms. The audience have been listening to these radio dramas at the different spots : The old city spaces, Sir Hanibal Lucic summer residence,franciskan monastery,tower,Saint Marko church, Lazaret on the island of Galesnik,town Hvar arsenal,Saint Anuncia space, and in the restored Hvar theatre. Within the festival it was presented the international conference «Ars acustice», which has covered the lecturing and listening 17 lecturers from abroad.

Megamix Radio Hvar has also participated with its own radio drama. To increase the number of listeners, Megamix Radio Hvar was sending in the air all dramas which were in the program. The solemnly opening of this festival was in the Saint Marko atrium. Introductory speech was kept by Croatin radio director and sir John Teocharis, the president of the internation jury of the festival Prix Marulic. The interest for this international festival is increasing, so growing number of guests and tourists participate more and more in the listening to these interesting dramas in the original down town places. The maintenance of this Radio Dramas Festival is the good introduction to the upcoming tourist summer.
