Celebration of the nativity of Mary town Solin

The Celebration Of The Nativity Of Mary has its origins in the 5th century in the town of Jeruzalem because it is supposed that it has been the native town of Mary and her mother Ana. In the 7th century, this celebration has been brought out from the east to the west. This holiday is celebrating as the beginning of the life on earth: For Jesus on December 25th, John the baptist on Jun 24th, and Mary on September 8th. The procession starts at 10 o clock and goes round the sanctuary-island church of Mary, when solemnly mass begins with mixed singing choir « Queen Jelena» from the towns of: Solin, Vranjic, Mravinci, Kucina, Klisa and Veli Varos-Split. Before the central celebration, on September 5-7th , three days' celebration with numerous masses and entertainments has taken place for all visitors of beautiful town of Solin. This celebration of the nativity of Mary, means a lot for the town of Solin, because it enriches the tourist offer, enhance the economic development and attracts numerous tourists.
