Uskoks battle for fortress Klis

Uskoks battle for fortress Klis is historical spectacle within Dalmatia tourist offer and is organized in last weekend of July. Uskoks Battle For Fortress Klis is taking place with few hundred warriors in Medieval Costumes and with medieval weapons. Within entertainment are held tournaments in fencing, archery, juggling with forches, singing of old folk songs, playing fifes, bagpipes, drums, fiddles, oriental music with belly dancers, performances of illusionists and magicians. Within fair, on main plateau of Fortress Klis are presented old crafts, original dishes and drinks, local handicrafts, souvenirs and other products of Dalmatia.

Main event is uskoks Battle For Fortress Klis which is held outside fortress on slops of hill Klis, entries and on main plateau of fortress Klis. Guests are presented by group and individual fights in armors, with shields of infantry and cavalry, rushes, defense, winning, punching war units and at the end negotiations between war commanders of Uskoks and ottomans armies with 250 warriors. Two performances are held in duration of 90 minutes with 24 historical Uskoks units from Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and units of turkish army. Within Uskoks Battle For Fortress Klis it is shooting from guns, catapults, bows, guns, holsters, they are fighting with sabers, swards, spears, maces and they are shooting at target with burning arrows.

This Uskoks Battle For Fortress Klis is very interesting to guests and tourists because beautiful panorama of Kastela bay, town Split and peninsula Marjan is seen from Hill Klis 360 m high.
