It is mentioned for the first time, in the documents of the Ottoman empire in the 15th century. There are numerous proofs of the stay of the ancient Illyrians and Romans. In the history of Town Drasnice the inhabitants have lived on the mountain Biokovo slopes, because of the safety of the numerous attacks of different armies. After the eathquake in 1962. all the inhabitants of the upper village have mooved toward the seaside and built the new settlement.
